Hello everyone, I have recently discovered that there are echo/ parrot repeaters I can access when dx conditions are good.

Up until recently I never knew such a thing existed, certainly I have never heard of this in the uk so it came as a surprise to hear my voice coming back to me.

These are the ones I know of so far.

26.515       Ch01
26.575       Ch06
26.865       Ch31 fm
26.915       Ch36
26.955      Ch40  fm only.

Band A
26.985      Ch03

26.995      Ch04

27. 085      Ch11

27.275      Ch27

27.295      Ch29



The repeater on 26.955mhz is the most accessible to me, does anyone know where any of these repeaters are located?

I have made a few successful qso's through this repeater with 13LS274, very strong and stable at times lasting around 10 minutes.

26.565 = Ch. 41
26.955 = Ch. 80
26.965 = Ch. 01

Channels 1..40 identically to US FCC / UK EU CEPT Frequencies. Inlcuding this crazy intermixed numbering 1,2,3(A)4,5,6,7,(B),8,9,10,11,(11A),12,13,14,15,©,16,17,18,19,(D)20,21,22,24,25,23,26..40  (Regard the numbering 22,24,25,23,26)
Channels A,B,11A,C,D are not allowed for CBers but for cheap remote Toy model radio controlers.

There are some full duplex repeaters (e.g. Kirchheim Teck , near Stuttgart)
where you talk (enter) on Ch. 41 (26.565) and listen on Ch. 40 (27.405) which offers the most useable channel-spacing.

Es gibt einige Full Duplex Repearer (z.B. Kirchheim Teck , bei Stuttgart) 
wo Du eine Eingabe auf Kanal 41 hast (26,565 MHz) und die Ausgabe auf Kanal 40 (27,405 MHz)

The point is, to speak on 41 and after releasing the ptt to change the channel immediately to 40 to receive the response of your QSO-Partner.

Der Witz ist, auf Kanal 41 zu senden und nach dem Loslassen der Sendetaste (PTT) musst du sofort auf 40umschalten, damit Du empfangen kannst, was der andere sagt.

There some echo repeaters (parrots), which record your message and then replay it.

Es gibt Echo-Repeater (Pagageien), die Deine Nachricht aufnehmen und sie dann wieder abspielen.

German's Ofcom (www.bundesnetzagentur.de) recommends the following channels for repeater and gateways:

So the Repeater on 26.955 seems to be a simplex repeater (parrot)

Der Repeater, den Du auf 26,955 MHz (Kanal 80) hören kannst, sollte ein Simplex Repeater (Echo, Pagagei) sein.

Yes the repeater on 26.955 is indeed an echo/parrot and a qso takes double the time to make!
I can only access it when dx conditions become available though.

The repeater you talk of in Kirchheim Teck, near Stuttgart is intriguing to me.
My radio (president lincoln 2+) has a split frequency function where its possible to make the radio TX on 26.955 ( or any other frequency) and RX on 27.405 automatically.
I have wondered if any of the cb repeaters are using ctcss to open them as my radio also can do this function.

As far as i know no Repeater uses CTCSS as it is a very rare technology. Only one or two radios from Albrecht had this feature built in.

Du bist am Repeater in Kirchheim Teck interessiert und möchtest wissen, ob der CTCSS verwendet. Die Antwort ist nein.

Er verwendet die President Lincoln 2+ welche Split-Frequenzen für Repeaterbetrieb erlaubt.

Für die Leute, die nicht so fit in englisch sind:
Er hat eine englische Forums-Seite über "CB-Funk im Untergrund" gefunden.
Da gibts eine Abhandlung über Repeater in Russland, sind wohl ziemlich populär dort.
In Russland scheint offenbar das komplette 27 MHz Band für CB-Funk freigegeben zu sein - je nachdem, wen man fragt :-)

Henning, denk dran, daß auf dem Herzberg im Taunus auch ein Relais (Repeater) steht mit Eingeae auf 41 und Ausgabe auf 40 also genauso wie das Relais (Repeater) in Kirchheim Teck.

Herzberg im Taunus (Relais) Der Sender hat einen Nachlauf von ca.2 Sekunden (bleibt also nach der dem gesendeten auf Kanal41 noch auf Sendung, dadurch vermeidet man, daß z.B. bei mobilen stationen das Relais ständg neu hochtastet. Nebeneffekt, man hört ob man das Relais erreicht hat)
